Un proyecto editorial impulsado por el ingeniero español Francisco García-Blanch de Benito y el economista mexicano Avelino Cortizo Martínez.

La Asociación de Técnicos, Directivos y Empresarios de la Hispanidad (HISPANOTEC) ha formalizado su apoyo institucional al proyecto editorial We the Two People: Hispanic Technological Heritage in the United States —«Nosotros, los dos pueblos: herencia tecnológica hispana en EE.UU.»—, impulsado por el ingeniero español Francisco García-Blanch de Benito y el economista mexicano Avelino Cortizo Martínez.
La obra, cuyo primer volumen está listo para imprenta, documenta cientos de contribuciones al conocimiento, inventos e innovaciones realizadas por personas de origen hispano que han beneficiado de forma determinante al desarrollo científico y tecnológico de los Estados Unidos. Se estructura en torno a tres áreas de alta tecnología con impacto transversal en el siglo XXI:
Ingeniería en información y comunicaciones.
Avances con impacto directo en la salud y la investigación.
Ingeniería aeronáutica y aeroespacial.
HISPANOTEC considera que esta iniciativa encarna de manera ejemplar los valores fundacionales de la asociación: la preservación y difusión del patrimonio científico y técnico hispánico, el impulso de la cooperación internacional y el fortalecimiento de los vínculos tecnológicos entre las comunidades de la Hispanidad.
Por ello, ha autorizado expresamente que su respaldo figure en publicaciones y materiales divulgativos vinculados al proyecto.
El apoyo de HISPANOTEC se suma a un sólido respaldo institucional ya consolidado, con instituciones de España, México y Estados Unidos que reflejan el carácter trinacional que define su investigación.
La obra no es una enciclopedia temática ni una investigación académica convencional. Su ambición es mayor: construir desde cero un modelo conceptual riguroso de la contribución tecnológica hispana al progreso de Estados Unidos, tejiendo miles de historias en una narrativa única y coherente.
Tesis central de la obra, avalada por evidencia sólida que abarca desde la era preindustrial hasta el presente.
El proyecto se enmarca en la conmemoración del 250.º aniversario de la creación del Mando General de las Provincias Internas de la Nueva España y de la Declaración de Independencia de los Estados Unidos, ambos de 1776, poniendo en valor el legado compartido que une a España, México y Estados Unidos.

The Association of Technicians, Executives and Entrepreneurs of the Hispanic World (HISPANOTEC) has formally expressed its institutional support for the publishing project We the Two People: Hispanic Technological Heritage in the United States, led by Spanish engineer Francisco García-Blanch de Benito and Mexican economist Avelino Cortizo Martínez.
The first volume of the work is ready for press. It documents hundreds of contributions to knowledge, inventions, and innovations made by people of Hispanic origin whose work has decisively shaped the scientific and technological development of the United States. The book is structured around three high-technology fields with cross-cutting impact in the 21st century:
Information and communications engineering.
Advances with direct impact on health and research.
Aeronautical and aerospace engineering.
HISPANOTEC regards this initiative as a direct embodiment of the association’s founding mission: preserving and disseminating the Hispanic scientific and technical heritage, fostering international cooperation, and strengthening technological ties across the Hispanic world.
Accordingly, HISPANOTEC has expressly authorised the use of its endorsement in publications and outreach materials related to the project.
This support joins a growing and distinguished network of institutional backers from Spain, Mexico and the United States, reflecting the trinational character that defines the project’s research.
The work does not set out to be a thematic encyclopedia or a conventional academic study. Its ambition is greater: to build, from the ground up, a rigorous conceptual model of the Hispanic technological contribution to American progress, weaving thousands of individual stories into a single, coherent narrative.
The work’s central thesis, supported by solid evidence spanning from pre-industrial times to the present day.
The project forms part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of two landmark events of 1776: the establishment of the General Command of the Internal Provinces of New Spain and the Declaration of Independence of the United States, placing on record the shared heritage that links Spain, Mexico, and the United States.
HISPANOTEC warmly welcomes this initiative and reaffirms its commitment to every project that transforms the potential of the Hispanic world into real, lasting, and tangible value.
